Release the Kraken!!!

It's that time again. In just a few short minutes I will be glued to my television, saying "oh no he/she didn't" even though I've watched them do the same things to each other for years now. I'm talking about the new MTV Challenge (Fresh Meat II \o/). It begins in just a few minutes, and I will be giving my post show observations each week. This season's premise is the beef between Wes & Kenny because Kenny hooked up with Johanna a billion years ago after she and Wes had already broken up (lame). If you're not familiar with the fresh meat challenges, they basically throw in a bunch of reality show nooberts who don't know the inner workings (and evils) of the challenges with the "veterans" who already can't stand each other. Below is a chart I swiped from MTV.com showing the relationships between the veteran players and why they might like or not like one another:

I will give an update of what happened after the show as well as spill who the surprise extra veteran girl cast member is :o I hope it's Coral!

WTF is WonkyPop?

WonkyPop Manifesto from ThisisWonky.com:

"What is Wonky? Well we thought the above collage was pretty representative of the Wonky Pop outlook. We want to show the world that pop is not a four letter word, and for every flaky reality TV winner there's a myriad of cool, credible and weird acts. There's more to music than cheese pop and crumby two-a-penny indie bands playing the Dublin Castle.

We're not ALL about music though... it's a lifestyle choice for people who lean the same way; the Wonky way - whether it be in fashion, film, music or gossip.

Our online community is a place for like minded people to trade bootlegs, rarities and generally discuss frivolities."

The rest goes on to talk about stuff going on in London which frankly I can't go to b/c I'm a) in the US and b) the G6 is in the shop.

The also list some of the bands which have played @ their Wonky Pop Clubnight:

Sam Sparro

Alphabeat

New Young Pony Club

Sneaky Sound System

Tommy Sparks

The Rumble Strips

Frankmusik

Little Boots

Marry me Anders SG

I swear this post is about Alphabeat. About how great their music is. But he can't/won't be ignored. I'm physically incapable of watching any of their music videos without drooling. He dances as though there might be a screw loose, his voice is smooth and velvety, his tambourine skills unparalleled. In short, I'm in love.
Okay, now that I got it out of my system (for NOW) let's talk Alphabeat. I first heard of them from one my crack addictions aka PerezHilton.com, and I've been a fan ever since. They're a Danish wonky pop band (see post above) whose first album,This is Alphabeat
was full of 80's inspired melodies and synths while they're latest effort The Beat Is... has a more 90's feel to it. I absolutely love their music and one of the lead singers, Stine, inspired me to chop all my hair off two years ago. They're for sure worth checking out, you won't be disappointed...unless you don't like happy/feel good music. If that's the case run away.

With a Youtube name like Hitmanbreakeroftheeye, you know this guys videos are bound to be magical. My tweenaged niece showed me this video of him doing Ke$ha's Tik Tok one night and I could not stop laughing. I'm not sure if I should feel guilty because he really does want to be a famous singer D: but check out how many views he gets! He need to get to American Idol ASAP! While you're on his page, also check out his rendition of jingle bells, the dance moves are spectacular.

When I found out Tanisha from Bad Girls Club was going to be on the latest Celebrity Fit Club I was so excited. Not because I really wanted to see her weight loss transformation, but because I was praying she'd follow up her hit song "Get the F**k Up" with a similarly hysterical wake up call. Could you imagine? I could totally picture Harvey telling her to stop banging the "dawg-on" pans.

Abnormally chub-tastic cat stuck in cardboard diet receptacle. I should probably stop there but I won't. Maru is maybe one of the funniest cats on the internets. His love of boxes borders on obsession. The fact that he's so cute helps a lot too.Check out "Big Box & Maru" also where he jumps in and out of huge boxes but not always gracefully mind you.

MuguMogu's Channel (for all things Maru)

Maybe it's because the only words I can decipher from the speech she gives is "professional" and "check it ouuutt". Or maybe because she holds on to that desk for dear life at the end...I can't till which it is, but this video makes me laugh and cringe every time.

Dance Fail

This video, literally, scared the bejesus out of me. There's not much you can say about it because once you watch it, it leaves you speechless...& I don't mean in a good way. In the timeless words of africanboi (See below) " Who the hell let Bonquita, Latifa and Tbaby out?!?"

It's So Cold in the D

Africanboi's response to It's So Cold in the D is by far the funniest I've seen. The wig, his lisp, the way he yells all line up cosmically. And he basically finds a way to articulate the outrage and just general sense of fail you feel while watching this video all while restoring your faith in humanity...or at least in Youtube videos that don't burn your cornea.

Re:It's So Cold in the D

Also check out his other videos & subscribe another personal fav of mine is the ongoing feud between Laquanda & Boniqua.

Emo bunnehs, dissapproving rabbits and more

Check out this buns fabulous do. He's a favorite over at Cuteoverload.com, my go to place when I'm emo(tional) and or bored. My own dog Pancho Villa was featured on the site, true story.
Also, they had this ridiculously agile cat whom could stand on his hind legs for an unprecedented amount of time. As the video so eloquently puts it, "Look! He thinks he's People!"

"Apr 7 - grey yoga pants by the guggenheim - m4w - (Upper East Side):

You: Tall, long dark hair, lovely brown eyes, a grey T-shirt and those pants that hugged you perfectly. We made eye contact for the briefest moment this afternoon. I'm sure you'll never come across this post -- you aren't the type of woman to need Craigslist -- but I just thought you should know (if you don't already) that you're the most beautiful woman on the planet... "

Le sigh...

Why Didn't Anybody Tell ME!!

Ok...in all fairness maybe someone did mention the awesomeness that is, Perks Of Being a Wallflower to me at some point, but to my defense, I wasn't paying attention. I just finished this glorious read by Stephen Chbosky & I felt all kinds of things which is what's supposed to happen after you read a good book. The 1st person narration is great, Charlie's voice is genuine and relatable, and I didn't want the book to end when it did, I wanted to go with Charlie through the rest of his high school experience, through college...basically till he died.

The book talks about a lot of solid music including this song by The Smiths which is a common theme throughout.

The Smiths "Asleep"

If you haven't read it, pick it up, you'll be glad you did.
